Kieron Gillen And Stephanie Hans DIE Returns In 2025:
Somehow, DIE has returned. The comic book series by Kieron Gillen and Stephanie Hans is coming back in 2025 — though how, and why is TBA.
The news comes via SKTCHD, which reports the news from Gillen’s newsletter, which was itself reporting the news from an interview SKTCHD did with Gillen. The news itself is pretty simple, the role-playing game turned real story of DIE will be back next year. It was teased on the back of a poster advertising We Called Them Giants, the new graphic novel from Gillen and Hans… And that’s pretty much it.
So will this be a new series of DIE? And if so, will it be the Tron: Legacy to the first series? Or perhaps another real role-playing game? Or maybe a piñata or something? I don’t know. More on this as it develops.
Inside Out 2 Gets A Comic Book Sequel:
Inside Out 2 is a massive hit. The highest-grossing animated film of all time, the number one streaming premiere on Disney+… And now, it’s heading to comics with a new graphic novel from Papercutz titled The New Adventures of Disney and Pixar’s Inside Out 2: Big Feelings.
Written by Sloane Leong with art by Sergio Algozzino, the new OGN will continue on the story of the film, following Riley Andersen — and her emotions — as she explores her world as a teen.
Now that all of the Emotions — Joy, Anger, Fear, Sadness, Disgust, Anxiety, Envy, Embarrassment, and Ennui — are working together, things are busier than ever in Riley’s head. Over the course of the book, they’ll have their work cut out for them as she, per PR provided to Comic Book Club, “braves a haunted cabin at summer camp, attends her first teen pool party, encounters an unexpected surprise just before school picture day, and more.”
The book also features colors by Algozzino and Sara Galanti, letters by Chris Dickey, and hits stores on October 29, 2024.
Marvel Reveals Xavier’s Secret In New One Shot:
Professor Xavier, as we all know, is a pretty little liar. And he’s got a secret. Can you keep it? Alex Paknadel and Diógenes Neves definitely can’t, as their X-Men: From the Ashes Infinity Comic is getting collected by Marvel as X-Men: Xavier’s Secret #1, a story that bridges the gap between the Krakoa and From the Ashes eras.
In the one-shot, we find out what happened to Professor X, Cyclops, and Jean Grey after the end of Krakoa. Why did Jean leave Earth, and spin off into the Phoenix series? What led to Cyclops taking his team to Alaska? And why is Professor X in prison? All these stories get told as the march to the “Raid on Graymalkin” crossover kicks off later this year.
Per the official synopsis, “In the wake of the fall of Krakoa, the X-Men are forever changed. As Jean Grey prepares to take her place among the stars, she and Cyclops share a last night together, only to discover a hidden mystery that threatens to pull them apart. Meanwhile, what was supposed to be a mundane article about Charles Xavier’s monstrous acts during the war turns into something far stranger for journalist Sally Floyd. Can the X-Men survive the shadows lurking in their pasts, or will their new era begin in tragedy?”
The issue hits stores on January 22, 2025.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And for what it’s worth, I do hope Gillen and Hans are bringing DIE back as a piñata.
