Earlier today on Comic Book Club News, we reported that Clover Press has been teasing a mystery book in its The Marvel Art Of… series. And now, that book is revealed, as The Marvel Art of Michael Allred is heading to Kickstarter soon.
The Kickstarter page is in pre-launch now so details are slim. However, we do know that the book will contain “200 pages of Michael Allred’s best comic art from over two decades of Marvel Comics,” per a graphic sent over by Clover Press PR. Adds the Kickstarter page, the Deluxe hardcover will include, “SPIDER-MAN, SILVER SURFER, FANTASTIC FOUR, X-STATIX and so much more – this book collects the amazing art of Allred at Marvel!”
Previous volumes of the series that hit Kickstarter include Marvel art books in collaboration with, and celebrating David Mack and Alex Maleev, David Nakayama, Russell Dauterman, and Michael Turner. All were easily funded to the order of 1184% to 3502%. The point is, people love these books, and getting one from Mike Allred is gonna be – to use his word – ginchy.
