No, That’s Not Ryan From ‘The Boys’ In ‘Salem’s Lot’

Jordan Preston Carter, Nicholas Crovetti in Salem's Lot

If you’re watching the new version of Salem’s Lot on Max, and were thrilled to see Ryan from The Boys in the movie, we’ve got some bad news for you… That’s not Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan on the Prime Video series. It’s Nicholas Crovetti, his twin brother.

Nicholas Crovetti plays Danny Glick in the movie, and spoilers past this point. He’s one of the first two victims to fall prey to the movie’s central vampire, first getting bitten and then turned into a vampire himself. Throughout several increasingly horrific scenes, he tries to turn his friend Mark Petrie (Jordan Preston Carter) and gets cut up a bunch before getting taken down and destroyed, like the rest of the vamps in the movie.

However, further confusing things, Glick is floating in the air with glowing eyes — just like Ryan on The Boys. But, and I cannot emphasize this enough, that is not Ryan. It’s not even Cameron Crovetti, who plays Ryan. It’s Nicholas! I swear!

Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti were born on March 12, 2008, and followed their sister, Isabella Crovetti, into acting. Though they’ve each had separate roles, the one(s) that catapulted the twins to stardom was playing Josh and Max Wright in HBO’s Big Little Lies, the twin sons of Nicole Kidman and Alexander Skarsgård’s characters. However, their careers have diverged as Cameron got the role of Ryan on Prime Vidoe’s hit superhero series. Meanwhile, Nicholas provided the voice of Iggy Peck on Ada Twist, Scientist, and starred opposite another Skarsgård (Bill this time) in Boy Kills World.

Want another layer of confusion? Salem’s Lot was filmed late in 2021 through early 2022. Meaning when Nicholas Crovetti filmed his role in the film, he was 13, going on 14. In the most recent season of The Boys, which was filmed in 2023, Cameron Crovetti’s voice was just starting to break — and since then the now 16-year-old has gone through a growth spurt and has a much deeper voice. That versus Nicholas in Salem’s Lot, who is pre-voice breaking. Meaning if you thought it was Ryan on The Boys (it’s not), it seems like Season 2 of the series, not the just aired Season 4. Weird!

In any case, there you go. Nicholas Crovetti is in Salem’s Lot, not Ryan from The Boys, aka Cameron Crovetti. Case closed!
