Absolute Batman #1 Sells Out, Will Get Second Printing

Absolute Batman Second Printing Crop

Absolute Batman is an absolute hit. Per DC Comics, the first issue out of the gate from the publisher’s new Absolute Universe has sold out at the distributor level and will receive a second printing with several brand-new covers.

Written by Scott Snyder with art by Nick Dragotta, Absolute Batman spins out of the events of this week’s DC All In Special, which finds — spoilers past this point – Darkseid dying, and his energy infusing a new, darker universe. These new takes on heroes like Batman will be without their familiar trappings, and challenge them to find their way to heroism with support systems. In Bruce Wayne’s case, that means no money, no butler, no manner, and a new Batsuit filled with surprising twists.

The second printing will feature a new main cover by Dragotta and Frank Martin, as well as a variant cover by Mike Deodato Jr. and Jão Canola, and an inked variant cover based on the new main cover by Dragotta, plus a foil variant based on an interior page from issue #1 by Dragotta and colorist Frank Martin.

The book will hit comic book shops on Wednesday, October 30, two weeks before the release of Absolute Batman #2 on November 13.
