Spider-Man Balloon Returns To Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade:
Spider-Man is returning to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! After a decade away, the balloon is back with a new design, inspired by artist John Romita Sr.
Spidey first debuted in 1981 in “person” before getting upgraded to balloon status in 1987. That version of the balloon appeared for over a decade before it was retired, and it now lives in balloon Florida. Just kidding. A new version of the balloon popped up (no pun intended) in 2009, but was last seen in 2014.
Said Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, via press release: “Just like the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Spider-Man is a true New York City icon, and I can’t wait for live spectators and viewers across the country to erupt in excitement as Spidey soars high above the streets of the Big Apple on Thanksgiving morning.”
Fingers crossed Green Goblin doesn’t attack. The 98th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will air Thursday, November 28 on NBC and stream on Peacock.
Canto Team Launches New Horror Comic The Feeding From Image:
If you love Canto, the hit fantasy series from writer David M. Booher and artist Drew Zucker… Well, here’s something completely different. The team will be launching The Feeding, a new horror one-shot, from Syzygy Publishing and Image Comics.
Per the press release from Image, The Feeding focuses on a man with a ton of vices in his past, who encounters a painting called The Feeding that eats people.
Said Booher, “I’m thrilled to celebrate spooky season with The Feeding. I grew up on horror stories, so it’s a treat to work with my buddy Drew Zucker to create this creepy love letter to series like Tales from the Crypt and Creepshow.” And added Zucker, “We’ve spent a lot of years now honing our skills and to have the chance to tell scary stories with this group really feels like being a kid telling ghost stories around the campfire.”
The Feeding will bite its way into comic book shops on Wednesday, October 23.
Storm Gets A New Costume In Her New Series:
Storm #1 debuts this week from Marvel Comics. And then in Storm #2, she gets a new costume. Designed by series artist Lucas Werneck, Ororo’s new digs will be a riff on her classic silver suit.
Said Werneck: “Fashion is always one of the many tools that I reach for when looking for inspiration. You can tell so much about a character through their clothes, and this kind of visual narrative is something that I love… I imagine her having this kind of goddess aura, but she also has so much humanity in her, so the challenge here is to translate all of the aspects that define her in the way she dresses, moves, talks—the way that she lives.”
Marvel also teases that throughout the series she’ll get a variety of new outfits. Storm #2 featuring her new shiny suit debuts On November 20.
