The Absolute Universe is almost here. And in advance of the release of Absolute Wonder Woman #1 from DC Comics, written by Kelly Thompson with art by Hayden Sherman and colors by Jordie Bellaire, we’ve got a first look inside the issue featuring unlettered pages, a slew of covers, and more.
Spinning out of next week’s DC All In Special, the Absolute Universe is defined by “chaos and disorder,” per a press release provided to Comic Book Club by DC Comics. And to that end, this version of Wonder Woman wasn’t raised on Themyscria… She was raised in Hell.
The first story arc is titled “The Last Amazon,” and will bring Wonder Woman to the world at large, one who will meet a princess with “beauty, grace, wisdom, and compassion—who is also faster than a hellhound and can swing a sword like Ares.”
Absolute Wonder Woman #1 features a main cover by Sherman, and variant covers by Jim Lee, Scott Williams, Alex Sinclair, Wes Craig and Mike Spicer, Jeff Dékal, and Dan Panosian.
