DC’s “All In’ publishing initiative is only a week away from kicking off. And in advance of the launch, you can get your first look at Detective Comics #1090 from DC Comics, written by Tom Taylor with art by Mikel Janín.

In the new storyline, kicking off on October 23, Taylor and Janín, along with letterer Wes Abbott, debut a new story titled “Mercy of the Father.” Looping all the way back to the murders of Thomas and Martha Wayne, readers will discover something completely new about Batman’s origin. Per a release provided to Comic Book Club from DC, “all these years later, this ghost of Gotham’s past begins to reveal itself. The streets of Gotham will run red with blood until the World’s Greatest Detective solves one of his most earth-shattering cases yet.”

The issue will feature a main cover by Janín, with variant covers by Dan Panosian, Bruno Redondo, Tony Harris, and Ashley Wood, plus an “All In” foil variant cover by Daniel Sampere.
