‘Agatha All Along’ Funko Pop Seemingly Spoils Teen And Rio’s Real Identities

Agatha All Along Funko Pop Rio and Teen

It was collectible figurines all along, as a new pic of an Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) Funko Pop! box has seemingly spoiled two huge secrets from Agatha All Along: the real identity of Joe Locke’s Teen, and the wildly surprising real identity of Aubrey Plaza’s Rio Vidal.

While the veracity of this Funko Pop! box remains unconfirmed – pictures from Funko of the collectible only feature the Agatha figure and the front of the box, not the back – I’m going to put a BIG SPOILER WARNING here anyway because I don’t want anyone getting mad at me in case it’s real.

Ready? Here goes.

No surprise on the first one, but “Teen,” who is currently cursed on the show so that Agatha can’t hear details about his name or backstory, is Wiccan. The heroic Marvel Comics character is named Billy Kaplan, though he might be more familiar to MCU fans as Billy Maximoff, aka the son of Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen).

In the comics at least, Billy was a construct of Wanda’s chaos magic, taken by Mephisto, Marvel’s devil, and seemingly destroyed. His soul was later brought back as Billy Kaplan, now the son of Jeff and Rebecca Kaplan. How closely the show will stick to this backstory? Well, stay tuned, is all I’ll say about that. We’re already about to get into a way bigger spoiler.

That’s because if this Funko Pop! package is to be believed, Rio Vidal, the Green Witch, is Death. And in case you’re confused about that, the physical manifestation of Death is a character in Marvel Comics, often pursued by Thanos, who is in love with her. Remember the line about “to court death” in the end credits of The Avengers movie that made Thanos smile? Yeah, that was why, though they never took that route in the movies.

If Rio is Death, though, what does that mean for her romantic relationship with Agatha? Is Agatha All Along subbing in Agatha for Thanos? Or is something else going on here? And why can’t Death kill Agatha? Why is Death masquerading as a Green Witch at all?

For those answers and more, we’ll just have to wait until further Funko Pop!s are released. I mean, the show continues.
