‘Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow’ Casts Villain Krem

Supergirl has met her match in actor Matthias Schoenaerts, who joins the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as villain Krem of the Yellow Hills.

Per THR, Schoenaerts will join star Molly Alcock, who plays Kara Zor-El aka Supergirl, in the upcoming DCU feature film. The movie will be directed by Craig Gillespie and is written by Ana Nogueira based on the comic book series by Bilquis Evely and Tom King.

In the book, Supergirl is stopping by an alien planet when Krypto the Superdog is gravely injured by Krem, a vicious space pirate. Along with a young alien girl named Ruthye, Supergirl pursues Krem across the galaxy in pursuit of both revenge and an antidote for the poison Krypto was afflicted with after Krem’s attack.

Per recent remarks by writer Mark Waid, Krypto is expected to be introduced in 2025’s upcoming Superman, while writer/director James Gunn has denied that Alcock will cameo as Supergirl in the film.

Schoenaerts is best known for appearing on HBO’s The Regime, as well as Netflix’s adaptation of the comic book The Old Guard. He’s also appeared in Django, Red Sparrow, and Rust and Bone.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is expected to begin filming in January in the UK, and has a release date of June 26, 2026.
