Daveed Diggs Joins ‘The Boys’ As “A Character In The Show”

In the vaguest news of the day, Daveed Diggs is joining The Boys for the fifth and final season of the series. What will he be playing? The official Boys social account isn’t saying s**t.

As revealed on X (formerly Twitter), “New S5 crumbs… let’s all welcome Daveed Diggs to The Boys family, shall we? He’ll be playing a character in the show. That’s all ya get for now.”

Diggs is probably best known for his multiple roles in Hamilton. But he’s also appeared for several seasons on the TV adaptation of Snowpiercer and provided the voice of Sebastian the crab in the live-action version of The Little Mermaid.

As for what he’ll be joining, it’s basically the superhero apocalypse. Homelander (Antony Starr) is now in charge of the entire United States. Butcher (Karl Urban) is in possession of a Supe-killing virus, and himself is possessed by a Compound V-powered cancer that’s infecting his body. Oh, and The Boys have all been captured by the government, except Annie (Erin Moriarty).

How Diggs plays into all of this is TBD. But if there isn’t a musical number, we riot.

The Boys Season 5 is not currently scheduled for a premiere date on Prime Video, but don’t expect it to air until late 2025, or more likely 2026.
