Marvel December 2024 Solicit Highlights::
It’s time once again to take a look into the future with Marvel’s December solicits, text, and info provided to comic book shops and press to spur advance orders from customers.
Appropriately, Marvel is looking into the future, too, with Timeslide, a one-shot that will find Cable and Bishop fighting a time-traveling threat while previewing what’s coming up in 2025’s storylines.
There are some new ongoing titles, as well. Laura Kinney: Wolverine spins the title character off on her own solo mission, and if you want to know more listen to this week’s live Comic Book Club podcast where we discussed the title with writer Erica Schultz. Also debuting is All-New Venom, which kicks off with a mystery character in the symbiote suit.
Moving to miniseries, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man spins out — pun intended — from the upcoming Disney+ animated series. Meanwhile, Infinity Watch spins out — no pun intended — from the currently running annual crossover. And TVA mixes the MCU’s chocolate with Marvel Comics peanut butter, taking characters from Loki with Spider-Gwen and others for another time-traveling adventure. All three series will run five issues.
Some more mash-ups? Kidpool & Spider-Boy takes the younger version of Deadpool and Spider-Man’s sidekick and teams them up in an oversized one-shot. Hellverine gets an ongoing as the character formerly known as Daken, aka Wolverine’s son, is now a Ghost Rider.
Moving to the Ultimate Universe, the big title is Ultimate Universe: One Year In, which focuses on what the villainous Maker’s council has been doing while the heroes have been preparing for the character’s return. Ultimate Spider-Man gives us a Christmas special. And Ultimate X-Men introduces Viper.
Other highlights? Sabretooth: The Dead Don’t Talk explores a secret chapter of the villain’s history. X-Men and Uncanny X-Men cross over in the four-part “Raid on Graymalkin” storyline, which pits the teams against each other while trying to rescue Professor X from prison. And the X-Men fight the Avengers in this month’s issue of the latter team’s title, as well.
And perhaps most importantly, Alligator Loki Holiday Special finds the reptilian god of mischief learning the true meaning of Christmas.
For Comic Book Club News, I’m Alex Zalben. And I can’t believe they’re already putting out the Christmas comics on the shelves, it’s not even Halloween yet!
