Rogue Heads Back To The Savage Land In New Miniseries

Rogue is heading back to the Savage Land this January, as a new miniseries — appropriately titled Rogue: The Savage Land is coming from Marvel. The five-issue miniseries will be written by Tim Seeley, with art by Zulema Lavina, in her Marvel Comics debut.

The new series takes place during the iconic era from Chris Claremont and Jim Lee’s run that found Rogue lost in the prehistoric preserve with Magneto. That took place during Uncanny X-Men #269 and #274-275 and was loosely adapted by the recent X-Men ’97. However, this miniseries will tell a whole new story set during the events of those issues.

“In these five issues, I get to utilize my love for 80s X-Men, Jim Lee, Chris Claremont, Zabu, scantily clad heroines (and heroes!) and probably most importantly: DINOSAURS,” Seeley told Polygon, which announced the news. “Alongside my collaborator Zulema Lavina, we’re going to deliver something fresh, while honoring the impossibly sexy and epic classic tale of a young Rogue, and two of the weirdest allies a girl from Mississippi could ask for: Magneto and Ka-Zar.”

Rogue: The Savage Land #1 hits stores on January 15. You can check out covers by Nick Bradshaw, Kaare Andrews, and Russell Dauterman, below.
