I saw Mommy… Killing Santa Claus? You definitely will with EC Comics and Oni Press‘s Shiver SuspenStories #1, a Christmas-themed horror anthology coming to stores later this year. And Comic Book Club has your exclusive look at a murderous and festive new cover from Adam Hughes, as well as the reveal of the wildly talented creative teams on the issue.
Running 56 pages, Shiver SuspenStories #1 is the first of an all-new line of extra-sized EC Comics specials that combine the line’s iconic horror, science fiction, and suspense stories with the holidays. And as teased above, the creative team — as usual — is stacked with this one. The issue features tales by Jason Aaron (Thor), Ben H. Winters (CBS’ Tracker), artists Kano (Gotham Central), Peter Krause (Irredeemable), and more to be revealed later. In addition, the issue will also feature a restored holiday classic from the EC vaults.
The issue will feature covers from Darick Robertson, Jay Stephens, and Rian Hughes which have previously been seen online. But we can exclusively reveal Adam Hughes’s cover, which features a riff on the classic Jimmy Boyd song — only instead of “kissing,” the Mommy in this cover is “killing.”
