If it’s even possible, Julie Sakai and Stan Sakai’s Chibi Usagi is about to get even cuter than ever before. Dark Horse’s Dogu Publishing imprint is giving the Eisner Award-winning, painfully adorable graphic novel an expanded edition with Chibi Usagi: Attack of the Heebie Chibis–Expanded Edition.
“We are so thrilled about this new edition of Chibi Usagi! It’s perfect for introducing Usagi to new readers and bringing more smiles to kids of all ages,” said Julie Sakai via a press release provided to Comic Book Club.
Added Stan Sakai, “Of all the collaborations I have worked on, Chibi Usagi and the Attack of the Heebie Chibis has been my favorite. This is a fun, exciting, whimsical story about the true value of friendship.”
You’ve probably figured this out from the title, but the book focuses on Sakai’s beloved rabbit samurai, but in a “Chibi World.” This volume includes the stories Attack of the Heebie Chibis,” “Attack of the Teenie Titans,” “The Story of Chibi Usagi and the Big Bad Jei,” “Chibi Usagi and the Goblin of Adachi Plain,” and “Chibi Tomoe and the Zó Ninja” along with color pinups that ran as the back covers to the issues, and an expanded bonus section of additional pinups.
The book hits bookstores on February 11, 2025 and comic shops on February 12, 2025. Check out the synopsis and cover, below.
