Are you ready to play as some of your favorite characters from Radiant Black, Rogue Sun, The Dead Lucky, and Inferno Girl Red? Well get ready, because the Image Comics superhero universe is coming to tabletop gaming with The Massive-Verse Fighting Card Game, this October.
Created by Solis Game Studio, Kyle Higgins, and Image Comics, the one-on-one card game is also expanding to two-on-two with The Massive-Verse FCG: Team-Up Expansion. And there’s a collectible playmat, with art by Dan Mora — who also illustrated the game’s character cards.
“We’re beyond proud of the game we’ve put together with the team at Solis Game Studio—it perfectly captures the characters of the Massive-Verse in a fun, fast, fighting card game that’s ideal for both long-time fans and brand new readers,” said Higgins via a press release provided to Comic Book Club.
Added Game Producer Chris Solis, “I am so excited to finally bring The Massive-Verse Fighting Card Game to store shelves! It’s been a long journey and we are extremely proud of what we have created here. The game is exciting, dynamic, quick, and accessible.”
So, what exactly is The Massive-Verse FCG? Great question. Here’s the official description, per Image Comics:
The strategic Massive-Verse Fighting Card Game will include individual character decks for each of the four lead heroes, as well as character decks for each of their most fearsome rivals—<001>, Cataclysm, The Griffin and Pyre. With deeply asymmetrical character decks and simultaneous turns, the game is designed to be lightning fast as the superheroes and supervillains go head-to-head in 1v1 battle or 2v2 with the Expansion… Since The Massive-Verse Fighting Card Game utilizes Solis’ Pocket Paragons game system, it’s compatible with other Pocket Paragons sets, as well.
I barely know what that means, personally, but I’m excited to find out! You can check out the game for yourself when it hits stores on October 2.
