The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has already kicked off production of Season 3 in Spain. And now, AMC has announced three additions to the Spanish cast for the series: Eduardo Noriega, Óscar Jaenada, and Alexandra Masangkay.
The three actors will all join as series regulars for the shoot in Spain, alongside Candela Saitta and Hugo Arbués in recurring roles, as well as more TBA. The news of the casting was made today at FesTVal, which, per a press release from AMC, is “a national television festival celebrated annually in the city of Vitoria in Spain.”
Eduardo Noriega is probably best known for roles in Thesis, Open Your Eyes, The Wolf, and The Devil’s Backbone, and has been nominated twice for Best Actor in the Goya Awards. Óscar Jaenada won a Goya Award for Camarón: When Flamenco Became Legend and was previously seen in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Alexandra Masangkay starred in The Platform and Valley of Shadows.
While Season 2 — which is still set in France — won’t premiere until September 29 on AMC and AMC+, production has already begun on the third season, which “follows Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.”
So yes, obviously Norman Reedus will return as Daryl Dixon, but Melissa McBride will also continue in Season 3 as Carol after a surprise cliffhanger set up her return in the Season 1 finale.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3 will premiere in 2025, and is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, showrunner David Zabel, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival and Steve Squillante. Silvia Aráez and Jesús de la Vega from Ánima Stillking join as executive producers for Season 3, and Peregrinos SP24 provides Spanish production services.
