It’s back to school time, and we’re about to school you on the new comics this week for September 4, 2024.
From Marvel, we’ve got another big week with Exception X-Men #1, which finds Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost teaming up to teach a new generation of mutants. Meanwhile, The Acolyte was canceled but it’s still getting a spinoff comic focusing on Wookiee Jedi Kelnacca. And there’s a new Marvel Zombies featuring Groot sneezing on people.
Over at DC, the most intriguing new entry is Plastic Man No More! a Black Label book that’s billed as a body horror noir. Absolute Power continues with a slew of tie-ins alongside the main series. And The Penguin series ends just in time for the new show on HBO.
BOOM! Studios kicks off Minor Arcana, the first ongoing series written and drawn by Jeff Lemire since Sweet Tooth. IDW is promising some big things with the anniversary issue Star Trek #500. And Oni Press kicks off a new horror series with Autumn Kingdom #1.
