‘Kylooe’ Gets Collected In English For The First Time From Dark Horse

Kylooe, a haunting-looking graphic novel by Little Thunder, is coming to English for the first time in a new translation from Dark Horse Books. The translation will come from Montana Kane, and hits stores in March 2025.

Collecting three, standalone stories, the new graphic novel does some little stuff like explore the human condition. And, per a press release provided by Dark Horse, “presents an emotional dreamworld of bittersweet love and growing up.”

In the first story, a teenager is having a rough time growing up. One day when she cuts class, she sees a mysterious creature on the cover of an album from her favorite band… And it’s her old, imaginary friend, Kylooe. The creature is actually real, and he’s back to help protect her. In the second tale, “an awkward girl makes an impression on a popular teen, and they begin to connect beyond their peer statuses.” And the final story in the collection takes place “in a world where expressing emotion is forbidden.” Sounds like the internet, am I right?

Little Thunder, who hails from Hong Kong, is the winner of the 2002 Best New Artist Award at the China Japan Comics Exchange. The book will run 384 pages in a paperback edition, cost $29.99, and hits bookstores on March 25, 2025, and comic shops on March 26, 2025.
