This is Comic Book Club News for August 29, 2024.

Marvel To Publish Deluxe Edition Of Uncle Scrooge And The Infinity Dime:

Uncle Scrooge And The Infinity Dime, written by Jason Aaron, is a hit. And now, it’s getting a deluxe Gallery Edition from Marvel, coming next year.

Per ICv2, the new, hardcover edition of the comic will include the original story by Aaron, which finds Uncle Scrooge contending with a multiverse of other Uncle Scrooges. It will also include the Carl Barks story “Christmas on Bear Mountain,” which was also included in the one-shot and ties into the new story in the issue.

The hardcover is 96 pages long, while the original floppy issue was 60 pages long, so it’s unclear at this time what bonus extras will flesh out the additional 36 pages. It will cost $34.99, versus the floppy’s $7.99, so hopefully something extremely cool? We’ve reached out to Marvel for comment, but did not hear back as of recording time.

The standard edition will feature Alex Ross’s cover from the issue, while a direct market exclusive will feature J. Scott Campbell’s cover, and will hit stores on March 18, 2025.

David Mazzuchelli’s Copies Of The Batman: Year One Artists Edition Accidentally Mailed To Fans:

The Batman Year One Artist’s Edition is the hot new item for comic book fans, featuring an oversized look at David Mazzucchelli’s art from the classic comic book series. However, some fans got too close of a look at the art — as the copies they received were ones meant for Mazzucchelli himself.

Per Bleeding Cool, some people who ordered the edition from IDW received an email explaining what they had received in the mail might have been an Artist Proof, aka the copies that were supposed to be sent to Mazzucchelli for checking the quality of the print before they were publicly released. Per the note, “These AP copies are reserved for the artist, and we kindly ask that you check your copy to see if you have received one. If you do have an AP copy, we would greatly appreciate it if you could return it to us so we can ensure it reaches the artist as intended.”

IDW then offers to cover the shipping costs, send a corrected, signed edition, and offer a discount on the purchase of a future Artist’s Edition.

While you hopefully won’t be able to snag an incorrect copy for yourself, you can get the book on Amazon right now for the discounted price of $135.

ElfQuest Color Editions Coming From Dark Horse:

One final deluxe reprint story for today: ElfQuest, the classic comic book series, is getting full-color, hardcover editions from Dark Horse.

The series will be collected in four hardcovers, under the title ElfQuest: The Original Quest. The first will be released in February of next year, followed by the second collection in May. Two final collections will be released later in 2025.

Of note, this isn’t the first time ElfQuest has been released in color… Previously, the series was collected this way by Donning, and then DC Comics.

The hardcovers will cost $29.99 and will be available next year.
