The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 2 won’t debut on AMC and AMC+ until September 29. But Season 3 of the series is already in production in Spain. And slightly spoiling a highly anticipated Season 2 reunion, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride are together en España, reunited as Carol and Daryl.
“As we look forward to the show’s return for season two, we’re excited to be back on set with Norman, Melissa and this great cast, alongside a fantastic local crew in Spain, whose expertise and creative vision are pivotal in bringing these landscapes to life and adding a new culturally rich dimension to the series,” said showrunner David Zabel via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “We’re excited for fans to witness the reunion of these two beloved characters in season two and to continue crafting the next chapter in the ‘Caryl’ journey here in Spain.”
The third season of the series will move the action from France to Madrid, with “extensive location shooting planned in the Galicia, Aragón, Catalonia and Valencia regions.” Also per a press release, here’s the (very vague, as usual) synopsis for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon Season 3:
Season three follows Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier as they continue their journey to somehow return home and to the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
The third season of the series will debut in 2025, and is executive produced by Scott M. Gimple, as well as Zabel, Reedus, McBride, Greg Nicotero, Brian Bockrath, Angela Kang, Jason Richman, Dan Percival, and Steve Squillante with Silvia Aráez and Jesús de la Vega joining as executive producers for Season 3. Peregrinos SP24 provides Spanish production services for Season 3, as well.
