It’s the final week of August, and that means it’s time to go back to school. That’s right: new comics school, ’cause you gotta learn all about the new comics coming out on August 28, 2024.
First lesson? Marvel’s got Aliens vs. Avengers #1 from Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić. And while that’s a big enough release on its own, they’ve also got Deadpool Team-Up, the final Deadpool series drawn by Rob Liefeld. Oh, and it’s Marvel’s 85th birthday, which they’re celebrating with Marvel 85th Anniversary Special #1.
Speaking of anniversaries, DC Comics celebrates Zero Hour 30th Anniversary Special #1 by heading back to the event Parallax built. The four-issue event Gotham City Sirens ends. And there are so, so many Batman and Absolute Power books.
The biggest issue of the week, though, is arguably Archie: The Decision #1 where Tom King and Daniel Parent finally have Archie choose between Betty and Veronica. Meanwhile, BOOM! Studios reunites Keanu Reeves, Matt Kindt and Ron Garney for BRZKR: The Lost Book of B #1. Image has Universal Monsters: Frankenstein #1, and Oni Press has a different kind of monster in Sesame Street #1.
