Alex Segura Teams Up Green Hornet And Miss Fury For Dynamite

Writer Alex Segura and artists Henry Barajas and Federico Sorressa are teaming up two vigilantes for Dynamite in the upcoming The Green Hornet / Miss Fury… And we’ve got a look at the covers and art for the series, right here.

“I have a soft spot for two things – writing pulp heroes I grew up reading as a kid, and working with my friends,” Segura said via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “So when Dynamite approached me to take this series on, I instantly knew who I wanted to pair with. Henry and I have been brainstorming Green Hornet ideas for a while now, and this felt like the perfect springboard to not only spotlight the iconic hero, but put him up against one of the true classic heroines of comics, Miss Fury.

“Fleshing out her backstory and watching these two icons play off each other has been a treat – these characters almost write themselves. Add in the detailed, cinematic art Federico brings to every page and the end result is sure to be a fun ride for longtime fans of Green Hornet and Miss Fury – or folks looking for a fun, Bronze Age-style romp.”

In the new series, the duo come together after the death of another crime-fighter, the Silver Shrike. And as you may expect, Shrike’s demise is just the tip of the iceberg of a conspiracy to take out all “masks.” But with Green Hornet and Miss Fury taking very different approaches, will their partnership continue?

“Green Hornet and Miss Fury are two of the most iconic pulp capes ever. I grew up pouring through the early Harvey Comics stories, listening to the radio shows, and watching the 1966 TV show starring Bruce Lee as Kato,” added Barajas. “This is undoubtedly a love letter to the Golden Age of comics while stinging the fans leaving them asking for more.”

THE GREEN HORNET / MISS FURY #1 will hit in November, but you can check out the covers from Francesco Francavilla, Jae Lee, Jonathan Case, and Jacob Edgar right now.
