Kieron Gillen and Stephanie Hans tore it up with Die in 2018, a riff on role-playing games that got dark and intense real quick. Now, the duo are back together with We Called Them Giants from Image Comics. And we’ve got a sneak peek for you, right here.
In the new graphic novel, we meet Lori, a girl walking the empty streets of the Earth where nearly everyone has disappeared. As teased in a press release provided by Image, “She’s thrown into a world where she has to scrape by in the ruins of civilization, nearly starving, hiding from gangs when… They arrive.”
Who “they” are you’ll have to wait to find out, but I’m going to take a wild stab and say the characters in the book call them giants. Because, you know, that’s the title of the book.
We Call Them Giants will also feature letters by Clayton Cowles, and colors by Becca Carey. The book will hit comic shops on October 30, and bookstores on November 12. Get a sneak peek inside, below.
