Marvel has already asked the pressing questions “What if Donald Duck was Wolverine?” and “What if Donald Duck was Thor?” And now, that series will continue as Minnie Mouse goes higher, further, and mousier for Marvel & Disney: What If…? Minnie Became Captain Marvel #1.
The one-shot comes from writers Steve Behling and Luca Barbieri, and artist Giada Perissinotto. Per the title, it will retell Captain Marvel’s origins from Ms. Marvel #1-4, originally created by Gerry Conway, John Buscema, Chris Claremont, Joe Sinnott, Jim Mooney, and David Anthony Kraft. The book will also feature Peg Leg Pete as the Scorpion, as well as an appearance by Scrooge McDuck.
“Steve, Luca and Giada perfectly capture the spirit of Carol Danvers’ origin, a real nostalgic treat with a Disney twist. Guaranteed to be the most fun comic of the month!” Editor Mark Paniccia said via a press release provided to Comic Book Club.
You can check out the synopsis for the issue, as well as covers by Peach Momoko, Elena Casagrande, and Phil Noto, below.
