Gerry Duggan is probably best known these days for his long run on X-Men, as well as Image Comics books like Falling in Love on the Path to Hell. But his side passion is photography, and that comes to the forefront in his art book Timing/Luck, which is being released by Image Comics this November.
“Timing/Luck is a visual autobiography of my time in Los Angeles as the worlds of comics and Hollywood began to overlap,” said Duggan via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “It’s been my privilege to work with so many talented artists and travel the world in support of the work. After the successful crowdfunding effort on the limited edition, I’m proud to publish the softcover at Image Comics, my longtime home for creator-owned collaborations.”
The first edition of the book was launched through Kickstarter, but as Duggan mentioned, this softcover collection will hit comic book stores and bookstores everywhere. Shot mostly on Leica digital 28mm and Fuji X100 35mm, the book contains behind-the-scenes shots of some of your favorite comic book creators, comedians, actors, and more, including: Patton Oswalt, Sarah Silverman, Stan Lee, Mark Hamill, Todd McFarlane, Robert Kirkman, Eric Stephenson, Marc Silvestri, James Tynion IV, Brian Posehn, Kevin Feige, Vita Ayala, Jason Aaron, Rick Remender, Matt Fraction, Chip Zdarsky, Jeff Lemire, Tini Howard, Skottie Young, John McCrea, Jock, Leah Williams, Brian K. Vaughn, Christopher Priest, Charles Soule, G. Willow Wilson, Brian Azzarello, and Declan Shalvey.
