On the last page of Uncanny X-Men #1, we get a glimpse of four new mutants being hunted by a mysterious, terrifying being. Of course, they want help from the X-Men. And now, thanks to Marvel, we know who they are: Calico, Deathdream, Jitter, and Ransom.
Along with two second printing variant covers, one featuring the new class of mutants by series artist David Marquez; and the other by X-Men artist Ryan Stegman — Marvel shot over a series of trading card style breakdowns of the new characters… Their origins, their powers, and more. Obviously, if you want to meet them in the pages of next month’s Uncanny X-Men #2, stop reading now. But if you’d like to know more, read on!
Calico:

Real name Becca Constance Simon-Pinette, she has the power of a psychic connection to her horse, Ember. Per the card above, Calico “was raised as a perfect American princess by wealthy and overprotective parents who taught her to hate and fear mutants.” She can also transform into “horse-forms” on command.
Deathdream:

Real name Hotoru, Deathdream died during childbirth. Then as a teen, “he is able to choose a state of life, or one of death at will.” He’s a walking corpse with a connection to the spirit world.
Jitter:

Real name Sofia Young, Jitter can “do anything she sets her mind to.” However, she crashes if she uses her abilities for too long, and is always on the move.
Ransom:

Real name Valentin Correa, Ransom has a “black hole heart” and was born in Buenos Aires. He was abandoned, then taken for ransom (hence his name), and “discovered that his captors’ bullets only made him stronger.”
Check out the new second-printing variant covers below, which will be in stores on September 11.

Marvel choosed the least accurate argentinean representative ever.
‘Ransom’ is a character created for an Argentinian author that marvel stole. The original character is named Lux from the comic Pets from @cnncomics (Instagram) / nncomics.com
This is totally unacceptable and everybody should know what marvel did.
Hi Adrian, I just read the four issues available online and have to be honest, I don’t have any idea of what you’re talking about? There’s no character that seems even remotely similar to Ransom.
