He’s the best there is at what he does, and what he does is star in 8-part Infinity Comics. At least, in this case, that’s true, as Marvel has announced Savage Wolverine, a new Marvel Unlimited series from writer Tom Bloom and artist Devmalya Pramanik.

Bloom is probably best known for his webcomic series Kill 6 Billion Demons, so you know he’s gonna get bloody with Logan. And that’s exactly what happens in the series, which finds Wolverine slicing his way across the American West to discover the secret of what, or who is The Beacon.

“This work has allowed me to flex my horror muscles in a way I haven’t been able to in a long time,” said Bloom via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “It’s been a real pleasure writing for such an iconic character.”

Alongside colors by Java Tartaglia, the first two issues of Savage Wolverine are available now online. New chapters will debut weekly after this, with Guillermo Sanna taking over art duties going forward.

In case you’re not familiar, Marvel’s Infinity Comics are their riff on the webtoon format, set up to be read vertically on phones and tablets. They’re available on the Marvel Unlimited platform, alongside digital copies of non-vertical comics. I mean, they’re still vertical for the most part. But it’s not the same thing.
