Four Marvel movies are heading to the Apple Vision Pro in 3D. And the better news if you do own an Apple Vision Pro and are a Disney+ subscriber? They’re all available in the device, right now.
The four movies making their 3D debut are Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, and Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Curiously, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the third part of the Ant-Man trilogy, was previously available in 3D on the Apple Vision Pro. The other two Avengers movies, Infinity War and Endgame were also available. Other movies that were available prior to today (and continue to be available) in the MCU include:
- Black Panther
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
- Black Widow
- Captain America: Civil War
- Captain Marvel
- Doctor Strange
- Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
- Guardians of the Galaxy
- Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2
- Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3
- Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings
- Spider-Man: Far From Home
- Spider-Man: Homecoming
- Spider-Man: No Way Home
- Spider-Man: No Way Home (Extended Version)
- The Marvels
- Thor: Love and Thunder
- Thor: Ragnarok
That still leaves several movies to be added, at a TBD date. The list above additionally doesn’t include non-MCU movies like the Amazing Spider-Man flicks and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which are Marvel movies but not technically part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
There’s also the What If…? An Immersive Story app tying into the TV series you can check out. Not sure that’s in 3D because I don’t have the thousands of dollars to spend on an Apple Vision Pro. But if someone wants to lend me one, as a Marvel fan I’m happy to check it out and let you know.
In addition to the 3D Marvel movies, the Apple Vision Pro also added an environment in conjunction with National Geographic: Thingvellir National Park.
“Since its inception, National Geographic has been at the forefront of photography and has led the way in using groundbreaking technology to tell stories that inspire a deeper connection to the natural world,” said David Miller, EVP, National Geographic, via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “Creating this immersive environment was a natural next step for us to take to build on that legacy and to continue enabling audiences to experience the beauty of our natural world and see places they may never go to otherwise.”
Watch Ant-Man and the Wasp in 3D while sitting in the “unique rocky terrain of Thingvellir National Park on a snowy winter day”? Don’t mind if I do! Still don’t have an Apple Vision Pro, but that sounds great.
