Sorry to any MCU fans looking forward to the Untitled Marvel movie that was previously scheduled for July 24, 2026… Disney has taken it off the release calendar. But don’t worry! They added two more Untitled Marvel movies in its place. Oh, and Blade still has the same release date.
The news comes via a greater reshuffling on the part of Disney movies, adding a slew of 2027 movies in particular. However, when it comes to Marvel a lot seems to be about evening things out to three movies per year, a mandate from CEO Bob Iger. That means Thunderbolts* and Fantastic Four: First Steps in 2025, as well as Blade, which does not have a director at the moment or a finished script.
That also means removing the aforementioned 2026 date, though two Marvel movies plus Avengers: Doomsday are planned for that year. They’ve also got Avengers: Secret Wars set for 2027, alongside two untitled Marvel movies.
The question is, and you’re not going to believe this… What are the titles? That’s a lot of unknowns for things that probably should get into production sooner or later. We’ve heard that Shang-Chi 2 is a go, so that might be one of the titles. Spider-Man 4 also seems a lock for some point in there (though it’s a Sony movie, so perhaps not).
Then there are also possible rumored projects like Thor 5 (hey, maybe that’s where we’ll see Thor crying over Deadpool), Doctor Strange 3, the long-in-development Armor Wars, and of course, at some point, Marvel will do an X-Men movie. Whether that will be post-Secret Wars or not is TBA.
Check out the full upcoming Marvel release calendar below, and speculate wildly:
