Thomas Jane Punishes Some Werewolves For ‘The Lycan’ At Comixology

Dirty Laundry star Thomas Jane is bringing a new horror comic, The Lycan, to Comixology Originals.

For the book, Jane (who okay, fine, is probably best known for The Punisher and The Mist) is working as editor, with Jane and David James Kelly providing the story, a script by Mike Carey, art by Diego Yapur, colors by D.C. Alonso, and letters by AndWorld Design. The werewolf thriller will run six issues from Renegade Entertainment, and will be released digitally through Comixology, with covers by Tim Bradstreet.

“This comic has been years in the making,” said Jane via a press release provided to Comic Book Club. “There were several times we thought we weren’t going to get it released, but sometimes when one door closes another door opens. We’ve found a great home at Comixology Originals and are so excited for people to read it digitally when it launches later this year. We hope it makes readers all shivery inside.”

That’s all well and good, but as The Punisher always says, “What’s the plot?” Actually I don’t think he’s ever said that, he’s pretty monosyllabic. Taking place in 1777, a band of big game hunters are headed home, when they crash on a small British Island, there, while their ship is being repaired, they’re tasked with killing the Beserking Beasts that have been eating a bunch of Benedictine Nuns. No spoilers here, but they fight werewolves, probably.

“It wasn’t until Mike Carey turned in his blood curdling, masterfully executed script that we knew we had something different. Something special,” Jane continued, “I first met Tim Bradstreet at SDCC over 10 years ago and we are thrilled to be heading back to San Diego Comic-Con this year to promote the new spine-tingling series, The Lycan.”

No premiere date has been released yet for the book, but you can check out some art and teasers, below.
