In October, writer Zeb Wells will say goodbye to his 60-issue run on Amazing Spider-Man. But we already know what the next 10 issues are going to be all about: the eight deaths of Spider-Man. And thanks to Marvel‘s Next Big Thing panel at San Diego Comic-Con, we have our first look at… Spider-Doom?
The new arc will initially come from writer Joe Kelly and artist Ed McGuinness, with writer Justina Ireland joining later on. It’ll actually start in Amazing Spider-Man #60 with a tease and a preview, but kick off in earnest in Amazing Spider-Man #61.
Spinning off (no pun intended) the events of Blood Hunt, Doctor Doom is now Sorcerer Supreme. And with his new-found powers, he decides to give Spider-Man a new suit of armor, and eight lives in order to help him take down an evil god.
You can can get a sneak peek at the first two covers to this arc, as well as a synopsis. Amazing Spider-Man #61 hits on November 13, with Amazing Spider-Man #62 following on November 27, 2024.
