‘Mystique’ Variant Covers Turn The Title Character Into Deadpool, Wolverine And More

Mystique #1 cover crop

Declan Shalvey is both writing and drawing a brand-new miniseries starring everyone’s favorite deadly, shape-changing mutant, Mystique. And to celebrate the occasion, Marvel is launching four variant covers for the first issue that turn her into X-Men icons like Deadpool, Wolverine, and more.

In the variants, artist Ricki Yagawa pencils a pair of covers that are half and half Mystique, Deadpool and Wolverine… Because they have a movie coming out, natch. Meanwhile, David Baldeón’s stunning cover finds Mystique mid-transformation into her own daughter, Rogue. Additional covers by Yasmine Putri and Rose Besch depict the character in non-transformative action.

In the new series, Mystique finds herself at odds with Nick Fury after a “web of lies and espionage” begins to close in on her, per a press release from Marvel. You can check out all five covers to Mystique #1 below. The first of five issues hits stores on October 16, 2024.
