After 10 fantastic episodes, My Adventures With Superman Season 2 is over with this week’s half-hour, “My Adventures With Supergirl.” And some big stuff goes down as usual, with huge emotional moments, enormous action, and at least one character not surviving. It’s a lot! So if you’re looking for a My Adventures With Superman Season 2 ending explained, you’ve come to the right place.
Obviously, spoiler warning for the episode that just aired on Adult Swim, and will drop on Max (formerly HBO Max) later today. But we’ll break down what went down in the final episode of Season 2, as well as what happened in the ending — and when we expect My Adventures With Superman Season 3 might premiere.
Let’s get into it! Or as Superman might say: up, up, and away! He hasn’t said that yet on this show, but he does in general.
My Adventures With Superman Season 2, Episode 10 “My Adventures With Supergirl” Recap
Things pick up in the episode pretty much where we left off, with Brainiac (Michael Emerson) attacking Earth. Superman (Jack Quaid) and Supergirl (Kiana Madeira) are down and out with Kryptonite poisoning caused by Lex Luthor’s (Max Mittleman) rogue Metallos.
Luckily, everybody — and I mean everybody — bands together to help the Super-cousins and save Metropolis from Brainiac, including pretty nearly every villain Superman has faced over the past two seasons… Even Amanda Waller (Debra Wilson).
The assembled heroes (and occasional villains) get Superman and Supergirl into the ship, which is when Brainiac says “Eradiactor override,” and takes over Supergirl’s brain. Not only that, the AI reveals he was the one who caused the destruction of Krypton, due to not wanting the war on the planet (and his role in said war) to end.
Supergirl, possessed by Brainiac’s program, attacks Superman while robots beset him from all ends… Until Superman realizes what he needs to free Kara isn’t force… It’s a hug. Jimmy (Ishmel Sahid) hugs her. Lois (Alice Lee) hugs her. And she breaks free of Brainiac’s control. Together, Superman and Supergirl throw Brainiac’s ship towards the sun.
But he’s not done yet. He synthesizes kryptonite and fires a massive ray directly at Superman… Only for Supergirl to jump in front and save him. She falls into the sun. RIP Kara, right?
My Adventures With Superman Season 2 Ending Explained

Nope. Turns out, the sun is a Kryptonian’s place of power. Supercharged, the two join hands, Kara gets a new costume, and they cut Brainiac’s ship in half.
But wait, he’s still not done, wildly. Kara splits him in half as he falls into the sun, too. But first, she’s cut by a kryptonite blade. RIP Kara, right?
Again, nope! She wakes up at the Kent Farm, where the Kents are thrilled to meet her. Clark plays catch with Kara, and for once, he’s not holding back. As the credits roll, we see how everything wrapped up:
- Superman and the people of Metropolis are heroes.
- Vicki Vale (Andromeda Dunker) gets the first exclusive interview with Supergirl.
- Amanda Waller is still at large.
- Lex Luthor has created LexCorp and recruited Deathstroke (Chris Parnell) to help him out.
Clark, meanwhile, tells Lois he’ll move to Gotham City with her if that’s what she wants to do. But that’s not what she wants. She doesn’t want to be the second Vicki Vale, she wants to be the “first Lois Lane.” So she’s staying in Metropolis.
The season ends with Superman, Supergirl, Jimmy, and Lois eating noodles on the roof when they hear a call for help. The two supes get ready to fly off, and the two humans come with them, to cover the breaking news story — Lois holding hands with Superman, Jimmy with Supergirl. Awww! A happy ending!
When Will My Adventures With Superman Season 3 Premiere On Adult Swim And Max?
We got into this more in-depth in our My Adventures of Superman Season 3 premiere date speculation post. But there are a number of factors unknown at this time in terms of predicting a release date for Season 3. The show has been picked up for Season 3 and is in production. It may perhaps also be stealthily picked up for Season 4. But with James Gunn’s Superman debuting in July of 2025, while I’d normally say My Adventures With Superman Season 3 will premiere in May of 2025 (i.e. a year out from this season), I’d now throw it later in the year — more likely November or December, to keep it clear of both the release of Superman and that movie’s potential VOD (Video on Demand) debut. However, this is just educated speculation, as no premiere date has been announced. It will premiere, and most likely in 2025. But when, exactly is TBA. Stay tuned!
