Army of Darkness Forever, Dynamite’s sequel to the classic Sam Raimi movie, is officially ending with issue #13, the publisher announced. Initially, the series was announced for 12 issues, though, so it’s going a little more “forever” than expected.
We discussed the series extensively with writer Tony Fleecs back at Baltimore Comic Con, and the tricky nature of adapting a licensed property from only certain sections of lore. Luckily: folks, Fleecs did it, and the series was a success. Now it’ll get an oversized, 40-page finale featuring art by Eamon Winkle, Kewber Baal, and Pop Mahn.
Additionally, Arthur Suydam, Bjorn Barends, Chris Burnham, and Tony Fleecs himself will all contribute covers for the finale issue.
In the finale, the three timelines Fleecs has been juggling — 1993 at S-Mart, the Middle Ages, and 2093 — will all crash together as the final fate of Ash Williams is revealed. At least, until next time.
Army of Darkness Forever #13 will hit stores on a TBA date in October. Check out the covers below, and click for larger versions.
