From September 15 through October 15, we’ll be celebrating Hispanic & Latin American Heritage Month. And smack dab in the middle of that, Marvel Comics is releasing a little celebration of their own with the Marvel Voices branded Ghost Rider: Robbie Reyes Special #1.

Like X-Men: The Wedding Special, this is under the Marvel Voices label but doesn’t have those words in the title. But even with the title tweak, this will have a similar format, with three stories that highlight Hispanic and Latin American creators and culture.

The spotlight story by writer Carlos Hernandez and artist Moises Hidalgo picks up at the end of Jason Aaron’s lauded run on Avengers, which left Robbie Reyes stranded in the other-worldly God Quarry. Here, not only will readers get to find out what Robbie has been up to, we’ll also check in with his friends and family back on Earth.

In a second Robbie Reyes story, the character’s co-creator Felipe Smith returns, along with artist Daniel Bayliss, for a tale that will “unleash Robbie’s full power against an interdimensional enemy in an uplifting tale of inspiration and heroic destiny,” according to a press release provided to Comic Book Club.

The final story of the three introduces a new character, Fantasma, written by Melissa Flores with art by Jan Bazaldua. Per the release, “Meet Isabella ‘Izzy’ Alvarez, a Colombian roller derby champ with a cursed secret, as she teams up with Robbie against a horde of Hellhounds!”

The covers for Ghost Rider: Robbie Reyes Special #1 are by Humberto Ramos, J. Gonzo, and Gerardo Sandoval. The issue doesn’t hit stores until October 2, but you can check out all three covers, below.
