After a few light weeks and a slew of comic book news leading into San Diego Comic-Con, new comics are back this week, baby! Meaning there’s a lot of them for July 17, 2024.
From Marvel, you’ve got Phoenix #1, the second book from the X-Men “From The Ashes” era, as well as Namor #1 as Jason Aaron looks to redefine the Sea King. But my two most anticipated issues? Daredevil: Woman Without Fear, particularly after writer Erica Schultz crushed it on the “Gang War” tie-in series; and Invincible Iron Man #20, which looks to delve into Tony Stark and Emma Frost’s relationship.
Over at DC, Wonder Woman and Superman both tie into the “Absolute Power” event. Meanwhile, Elseworlds expands with the Deathstroke/Viking story Dark Knights of Steel: Allwinter.
Archie Comics has the extremely dark (and fun) Chilling Adventures Presents Truth or Dare #1. Gerard Way and company launch Paranoid Gardens #1 from Dark Horse. Dynamite has Powerpuff Girls #1, in their expanding Warner Bros. line. And Oni grows their Nacelleverse with Biker Mice From Mars #1.
