The CW’s Riverdale hasn’t aired for weeks, and we’re starting to get more anxious than Jughead (Cole Sprouse) when he’s gone an hour without a hamburger. Good news, then: new images have dropped for the twentieth episode of the season, “Chapter Thirty-Three: Shadow of a Doubt.”
No, you haven’t hit your head: tomorrow (April 18) the show returns with “Chapter Thirty-One: A Night To Remember.” But with no more breaks after this week’s episode, The CW is revving the promo machine into high gear, and we’ve got a gallery of images for the episode airing on May 2.
As usual, the images, which show off the upcoming debate between mayoral candidates Fred (Luke Perry) and Hermoine (Marisol Nichols) are pretty much spoiler free. It’s the blurb about the episode that’s much more revealing:
DEBATE NIGHT — As the town’s mayoral race between Fred (Luke Perry) and Hermoine (Marisol Nichols) heats up, Hiram (Mark Consuelos) sets his sights on a new ally — Sheriff Minetta (guest star Henderson Wade). Betty (Lili Reinhart) turns to Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) for help when she has a suspicion about the Black Hood. Meanwhile, the reveal of a dark secret forces Archie (KJ Apa) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) to try and ease tensions between the Bulldogs and Serpents. Finally, on the eve of the mayoral debate, a mysterious message leaves everyone on edge. Camila Mendes, Madchen Amick, Skeet Ulrich and Casey Cott also star.
– Wait, if there’s a Sheriff Minetta, what’s going on with Sheriff Keller? I don’t understand how police departments work, so maybe there are two sheriffs???
