‘Krypton’ Cast Reveals Their Personal Kryptonite

Wallis Day Krypton

Given SYFY’s Krypton takes place hundreds of years before Superman was saving Metropolis, you wouldn’t think there would be a lot of connection to the Man of Steel. But between villains like Brainiac, and time travelers like Adam Strange (Shaun Sipos), a fair amount has snuck in there.

One element that, by definition, can’t show up though? Kryptonite. Superman’s one weakness (other than magic, sometimes) isn’t created until Krypton explodes. And even if Kryptonite was brought to Krypton, it wouldn’t matter… It would be like throwing dirt at a human.

That didn’t stop the folks at SYFY from finding out what would be the cast’s kryptonite, of course. In a new video, they break down what their personal weaknesses are. Here’s a breakdown!

Cameron Cuffe (Seg-El): Red Onions

Wallis Day (Nyssa-Vex): Heights (and apparently not getting naked)

Georgina Campbell (Lyta-Zod): Her Hair

Shaun Sipos (Adam Strange): Dark Chocolate

Geoff Johns (Executive Producer): Hostess*

Aaron Pierre (Dev-Em): Cake

*Sounds like the only way of stopping Geoff Johns is with a fruit pie. Worth noting.

Here’s the official description of the series from SYFY:

Set two generations before the destruction of the legendary Man of Steel’s home planet, Krypton follows Superman’s grandfather (Cameron Cuffe, The Halcyon) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. Based on DC characters, Krypton is executive produced by David S. Goyer (Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, The Dark Knight trilogy). Cameron Welsh (Ash vs Evil Dead) will serve as executive producer and showrunner.
